Catamaraning round the balmy tropics of the Whitsunday Islands sounds so idyllic. And it has been for himself and fellow holidaymakers. But it is not always the case. Only two years ago the very area in which they were cruising till this morning was in the grips of a massive cyclone. They called her Debbie.
And two years later, this is what the intrepid travellers saw –

It was fierce. That island holiday resort the photos are from went bust. Nothing salvageable
Oh yes, nature can be ferocious.
It was like after nuclear holocaust.
and it takes a lifetime to recover sometimes.
Yes. SOmetimes never. Those photos were of an island holiday resort that never recovered.
Living in Mississippi USA we have had our share of storms. Some worse than others but all difficult to get over and rebuild.
The power of Mother Nature can be both awesome and very destructive. Pity that this island resort never recuperated.
The power of nature is so humbling…
