This reblog from a March 2016 post of mine seems a fitting follow up to yesterday’s post about Life and Learning.
All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten
by Robert Fulghum
Most of what I really need
To know about how to live
And what to do and how to be
I learned in kindergarten.
Wisdom was not at the top
Of the graduate school mountain,
But there in the sandpile at Sunday school.
These are the things I learned:
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don’t hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.

Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life –
Learn some and think some
And draw and paint and sing and dance
And play and work everyday some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world,
Watch out for traffic,
Hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.

I would add – believe in God and the angels

Love Fulghum! This is one of the simplest and best. And still highly relevant.
Absolutely!
I have only one thing to add to that; test the water before jumping in with both feet…
Good idea!
Sadly not everyone learns these simple rules of life. If they had we would be a better world to live in.
So true
Aww cute photos and great rules to live by. 🌹
🙂
🙂
Absolutely wonderful ‘rules of life’ to learn and live by – at any age.
Thank you so much for this post Raili. I think I’m going to print it out and hand it to Daughter No.2 so that she can hang it in her home and teach Little Cobs those very things.
Sending Tuesday love and squidges ~ Cobs. xxx 🙂 ❤
What a great idea, Cobs!! thanks 🙂 Squidges and love right back at ya x
