‘Tis Day 2 of a lyrical challenge.
Today I give you two for the price of one.
Simply because I could not choose between them.
Iz, the gentle Hawaiian giant whose voice sends shivers down my spine –
I fell in love with this song the minute I heard it.
APOLOGY – the video I originally posted yesterday was unavailable (how did I miss that?!). I have now changed it to a new one.
The Rules of the Challenge
1. Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Share one of your favourite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
3. Nominate three other bloggers each day. (or one, one is probably enough)
Thanks Jane.
Day 2: I’m nominating Elaine
It is also Soul Gifting time for August.
It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to Ivor.Plumber/Poet –
a semi-retired plumber and amateur poet.
He says –
My empty hands are full of
Of memories and rhymes
Like Iz, Ivor is a gentle man with a big heart.
Steps for Peace
Ivor has added his voice to the call for peace
Let There Be Peace In Our Time.
Raili Tanska
Hi Raili I’m just home from my writers group meet. Love your music choices, and Iz’s voice always sends a chill down my spine too, he’s truly incredible, and his version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” is very special to me. xx
Oh…. I’m feeling very privileged and honoured that you’ve kindly “Introduced” me to all your readers. And thank you dear Raili for your lovely words of praise, you’ve made me blush and smile at the same time xxxxx
I’m delighted you enjoyed it, Ivor. And it is my pleasure ot have you as this month’s Soul Giftee x
I’m feeling truly gifted 😊💛💛🍻
But wait – there is more if you email me 🙂
This is a beautiful post Raili! Thank you for sharing these. I remember his version of “Somewhere” from a movie, was it “Fifty First Dates”? The accompanying video is lovely. I had not heard any of his other music. Wonderful!
I’m so glad you liked it. His voice is really special.
I shall email today after I finish some plumbing.
I believe it was also use in the soundtrack for the movie Australia. (I think…)
His music has been used in a lot of movies – esp. the wonderful world mix
“Somewhere Over The Rainbow” is at the top of my song list too. But maybe you guessed that?
Maybe … 🙂
Cathi – I pass the baton on to you should you wish to accept it. https://soulgifts.com.au/2018/08/24/the-king-has-left-the-building/
New to me but boy is he good. Thanks. I’ve bookmarked his Youtube.
I’m glad I was able to introduce you to him. Sadly, he passed away very young (38). But his music lives on for us to enjoy
Oh goodness. Don’t think it was from being too thin.
No, he struggled with his weight all his life.
Two songs? I counted three 🙂 Your choices reflect your beautiful soul. I knew I’d be in for a treat when I tagged you.
Awww – thanks Jane xxxxx
That first song is so ethereal!
I have never heard it sung like this 🙂
