Each one of us is unique. We all have our foibles. Some things we’re good at. Others not so much. And some we’re still learning about.
This video of Tiny Tim delightfully reminded me just how important it is to have someone in our corner, pushing us at those times when we have run out of oomph. Someone to give us that extra shove and a fighting chance. I must admit I got ‘lost’ for a while in following this little one around.
As I was away road tripping last month, the monthly Soul Gifting got missed. So it’s a double this time. The two ladies featured this month have endearing qualities that remind me of Tiny Tim. Really!
Lady Calen of Impromptu Promptlings is a fighter. She is resilient, courageous and loves to go spelunking in the inner cave of her psyche. In her words –
I’m a seeker, firstly, plain and simple. And I have the personality of a dragonfly! I flit from one thing to another — up, down, side-to-side, backward, forward, even in a diagonal pattern from time to time. Ya just never know what you’re going to get with me. But if you’re not afraid to go along for the ride, then you’re my kind of reader.
Jane Basil of Making it Write is a fighter of a different kind. She’s done it tough. And she writes it out. Words spill in vivid cascades of verbiage – all the turmoils, twists and turns that life has put in her path. Along with a wonderfully wicked sense of humour. In her words –
So,
the writing remains,
my first passion, a myriad of faithful words that float with love unending,
requesting no return, begging only
to be poetry.
It is these that saved me,
finding me, offering unfailing constancy,
giving breath where air was thin,
and finally delivering me
to you,
you who read me.

This I found so uplifting and necessary.
Awesome xxx
Tiny is just too cute but at my age ,,,,no thank you .
It takes a certain kind of person to take on such a challenging task. We saw that in Coober Pedy at the kangaroo orphanage too. Bless them – the joy and delight that it brings to the rest of us to see the animals, the trust and love in the relationship between them is truly wonderful.
And then there’s Raili, with her perfect balance of all the best qualities xx
Awww – thanks xx
Tiny is too cute and mischievous fun!
Jane is a real battler with the biggest heart and exceptional poetic talent!
Right on all counts !
🙂
OMG….now that’s what I need for company..he is sooooooo cute!! as for your recipients of Raili’s Soul-Gifting…perfect!! Amazing Women!! I (heart) them!!!!
Get one – I can just see you with a Tiny Tim 🙂
I do have the room for one!!!! And if I could get him used to sitting in my passenger seat I’d have a traveling companion!!! Now if only hotels/motels would consider him a ‘pet’ ?!? Lol
Tiny Tim does all those things really well. He’s dog size, house trained – surely that qualifies for pet status!
Absolutely!!!!
Ah gee… Thanks, hon. I’m honored to be in such tremendous company as yourself and Jane! 😀
(And for the record, I’m just plain bull-headed. Just ask his nibs!)
Awwww 🙂
I just got a letter from Australia! It was a huge surprise, since I hadn’t realised why you featured Calen and I in this post. Maybe the familiar image of a parcel, headed with the words “Soul Gifting” should have been a clue…
Thank you! And how wonderful to have a beautiful piece of Aborigine art in my possession xx
Gee, that was quick ! Glad you like it. Bought it in Darwin 🙂
You chose well 🙂 Those are the colours I crave right now; turquoise and green calm me down.
Must have had your name on it 🙂
