      1. I have to forget that some of them are long gone, as I knew them, and one was recently felled by a storm, to become food and shelter for all kinds of burrowing creatures, but their spirits live on.

      2. I do. Before anybody spoke of such things, my mother said that all of time exists together. When I asked how that could be, she said she didn’t understand it and she’d never heard it spoken, but it was something she just knew in her bones.

        She put everything she had into this physical world, and yet their was an intrinsic other-worldliness about her. She was a superior being, a puzzle… it seems as if I’ve slipped away from the subject. I was really only trying to say that those trees are present now, in another moment in time.
