“I can’t even hear what I’m thinking most of the time,” he said, his brow wrinkling. “My brain’s noisy.” Jodi Lynn Anderson
YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA YADA …..
It’s Australia Day here. There is so much loud chatter about what it is, what it should be and what it isn’t that I decided to dedicate the day to Stillness instead. On Monday I will post about the chatters. Not now.
Now it is time to be still.
Let’s start with this –
Aaaah – so much better!
“When I say I love the silence, I’m not being entirely truthful. What I actually love are the abundant, delicate sounds that amplify when I’m silent. These curious creaks, mutters, and hums compel my imagination.” Richelle E. Goodrich
If you want to know where your heart is, look to where your mind goes when it wanders. HealthyPlace.com
“The stillness of the waters is only drowned out by the sound of your heartbeat.” Anthony T. Hincks
“Be still. Stillness reveals the secrets of eternity” Lao Tzu
“In my silence and stillness, my soul dances with the ecstasy of life.” Debasish Mridha
“When you approach something to photograph it, first be still with yourself until the object of your attention affirms your presence. Then don’t leave until you have captured its essence.”
― Minor White
“In the stillness the voice inside is louder, much louder, and cannot be ignored.”
― Diane Brown
“Even when in the midst of disturbance, the stillness of the mind can offer sanctuary.”
― Stephen Richards
“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.”
~ Deepak Chopra
Seek out a tree and let it teach you stillness. Eckhart Tolle
There is nothing as certain as silence, stillness, and solitude to introduce you to the secrets of yourself. Guy Finley
Raili Tanska

“It is the stillness that will save and transform the world.”
~ Eckhart Tolle
“Being still does not mean don’t move. It means move in peace.”
― E’yen A. Gardner
There is a presence, a silence, a stillness which is here by itself. There is no doer of it, no creator of this stillness. It is simply here in you, with you. It is the fragrance of your own self. There is nothing to do about this, it is naturally present. This fragrance of peace, this spaciousness, it is the fragrance of your own being. ~ Mooji
Great quotes!
🙂
I’m listening to the Fall – very loud! Not quite the same.
🙂
Your posts often stop my mind of spinning. Then I breathe and take a look at what’s around me. This post is especially true of that. Lovely and peaceful.
That’s wonderful – thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it. 🙂
“If you want to know where your heart is, look to where your mind goes when it wanders.” Ooo! LOVE this quote! Now I’m going to have to start paying attention! Might be worth a second post down the road somewhere. Thanks for noting that. I’ve put it in my quote book now.
Love all the wisdom here… right now my favorite is: “If you want to know where your heart is, look to where your mind goes when it wanders.” That would be a very interesting exercise.
I must say, in the stillness/silence, resides the magnified hisssssss inside ears, ever present, and ever distracting.
Great post here.
Blessings
Fim
Thanks Fim! I know that hissssss oh so well 🙂
Such wonderful quotes, all waterfalling from each other, silently, gracefully, making splash after splash in my memory. Thank you, Soul Gifts, thank you.
Oh – thank YOU! I love the thought of quotes splashing into memory 🙂 Raili

“Seek out a tree and let it teach you stillness.”
That’s the quote that speaks the loudest to me… it’s calming just to visualise a tree. Trees are so much more than most people realise…
That one leapt out at me too!
I’m not surprised…
Beautiful quote 👍🌸
Thank you 🙂
