It was with trembling hands and trepidation that I plunged in and changed the header and background colour on my blog.
I took a deep breath, searched my file of images tucked away for possible future use. Did a preview. Played with some different shades of blues to complement the header till it felt and looked right. The I hit the Publish button. *gulp*
I did the same thing last January too. For some reason, it seems a big thing to do. Like changing my identity. But nevertheless it feels like it is an important step to newness.
Interestingly, I have no difficulty in adding touches of outrageous colour to my hair every Christmas. This year it was blond, red and Christmas green highlights. The year before I called it rainbow parrot.
So why is changing the image of my blog so – nerve wracking?
Now that it’s done, and the first approving comments have landed in my Reader, I feel so much better. Let’s see what I can find out about the colour I chose and the image.
Blue is about peace, truth, tranquility, trust, harmony calm. Hmmm, I like that!
Starlight – Humans are made from the same stuff as stars. Do some research, you’ll find it’s true. Our bodies are composed of the very same minerals and essences as our stars are. We were born from the womb of deep space, and so our physical makeup retains traces of our celestial forebears. Cosmic dust, star particles, galaxy goo…whatever you wanna call it, we’ve got it swimming in our own bodies.
Taking that factoid a bit further, we can ascertain that we are born to shine (just like our star-lineage). I propose it’s not how big our actions are that put us on the map of life, but how intensely we shine our inner light upon the world.
Awesome – I like my header even more now. 2018 here we come!
