Sunday morning – and my back went into spasm from a simple twist while I was sitting. Ouch, ouch, mega ouch!! I’ve done all the usual things to fix it – rest, heat, massage, pain relief, anti-inflammatories… it’s nearly there after three days of hobbling around. So now that I can move a bit more comfortably I turned to Dr Google. Here’s a few tips –

Raili, Hope you are mending. Interesting video. Have you tried Aspercream? It works very well for me. It is a topical aspirin that you apply to the area that is giving you pain.
Thanks Bernadette. Never heard of Aspercream. I have a blend of various essential oils that help with the inflammation and pain.
Glad to hear you’re improving.
Thank you.
Sorry to hear about your back. Back pain is really troublesome. You can’t get comfortable. Does the comfrey and stretching work?
I get this now and then from the simplest things. Stretching is great for all kinds of knots – neck, shoulders. I’m going to find me some of that comfrey. I expect it would be very good.
Sorry to hear that I know how painful it can be! I use ice or rather cool packs that go in the freezer they reduce the inflammation, My osteopath recommended 20 hot, then 20 mins cold. I hope you feel better soon, oh and keep moving 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
Thanks for that Elaine. I didn’t use cold packs. But keeping mobile is essential otherwise it just seizes up. SLowly improving 🙂
I hope it improves soon it’s horrible having a bad back
Getting better, thanks Elaine. Hanging around a bit longer than usual, this one
I feel for you honestly, ice is the only thing that brings me relief
might have to try that !
Even if you wrap some frozen peas in a tea towel and tuck it inside next to the skin, it helps massively
Gotcha!
I hope you are feeling better. I use the Actipatch loop. You can buy them through Amazon. It works well for me.
Much better now, thanks! Never heard of the loop, must check it out.
😉
My father had some bad back spasms in the past that he actually cured by putting cabbage leaves on and wrapping it with plastic wrap overnight. Wishing you a fast recovery!
Another fascinating cure 🙂 Thank you for the tip, Tatjana. I have heard of cabbage leaves being used for various things, but not back ache!
Cabbage is very powerful! The best to eat if one wants to lose weight and apparently cures headache as well. It’s quite popular here in the Balkans to be used for the back pain. Hope it helps!
My 30 year old niece has back trouble. She finds it help to hang upside down from the knees… somehow I don’t think that’s very useful information.
Hope your back is continuing to improve, Raili xxx
Yes, hubby did that. I’m not able to…
TRH is a practical guy. Maybe he could fix a long rope high up on an outside wall, tie your feet to it, and hoist you up…
or maybe not…
Oh dear the thought of it done enough to make me nauseous
Oops.. perhaps I should keep my medical advice to myself 😉
Haha, I’m willing to listen, even consider. But perhaps not this one….
