Echoes of Making Stuff

It’s been a productive couple of weeks in the kitchen and the craft room.

I’ve been doing lots of baking. Ostensibly in preparation for Christmas. In reality not much is left …not even photographs. Not a major issue at this early stage.

You may have noticed that I am partial to the odd minion or two, having posted some videos recently. I have extended to making one! Sans pattern. This little fellow stands about 10 cm tall. I’m pretty proud of it.

Roses in hand, he’s off to a new home tomorrow as a birthday surprise.

Yesterday I spent half the day with a small friend doing some painting and making banana ice cream.

Between us we are creating a tryptich. I primed the three canvases with left over house paint. Hence the odd colour. For the first one I added a background of earthy colours as a point of contrast to the design itself. By the time we were ready to create it was dry.

We spent the afternoon drafting the design. Then we made a stencil of it so we could transfer it to the canvases. On the right hand side is a closeup of the first  work in progress.  Your eyes are not tricking you. They are buttons!

My supervisor and shadow, Tess, was momentarily surrounded by her playmates. She really is not so sure what to think of it all.

It has been a busy and productive week. Watch this space for progress of our artwork.

  1. Wonderful to see your creations dear Raili.. and loved what you had done in creating that Minion.. BUT .. you mentioned that naughty word…. Beginning we C… I don’t even want to think about that until the beginning of November LOL..
Have a wonderful weekend.. And Enjoy your creative time.. .. Nothing better..

    1. Thanks Sue 🙂 I know exactly what you mean! But I have to be organised otherwise I’ll be too stressed, tired and grumpy to enjoy family time. The tribe is coming to our place this year – we take turns. I hope your weekend is awesome.
