Saturday Smiles at Home

We made it back home without any further mishaps or run-ins with wildlife!

There is one more post in the pipeline of our last day of travelling.

I talked to a  homeless man this morning, and asked him how he ended up this way.

He said, “Up until last week, I still had it all. I had plenty to eat, my clothes were washed and pressed, I had a roof over my head, I had T.V. and the Internet, and I went to the gym, the pool, and the library. I was working on my MBA on-line. I had no bills, and no debt. I even had full medical coverage.”

I felt sorry for him, so I asked, “What happened? Drugs? Alcohol? Divorce?”

“Oh, no, nothing like that,” he said. “No, no…. I was paroled.”

😯       😯       😯

After a long night of making love, the guy notices a photo of another man, on the woman’s table by the bed. He begins to worry.

‘Is this your husband?’ he nervously asks. ‘No, silly,’ she replies, snuggling up to him.

‘Your boyfriend, then?’ he continues. ‘No, not at all,’ she says, nibbling away at his ear.

‘Is it your dad, or your brother?’ he inquires, hoping to be reassured.

‘No, no, no! You are so hot when you’re jealous!’ she answers.

‘Well, who in the hell is he, then?’ he demands.

She whispers in his ear, ‘That’s me – before the surgery.’

Steps for Peace

In the hearts of people today there is a deep longing for peace. When the true spirit of peace is thoroughly dominant, it becomes an inner experience with unlimited possibilities. Only when this really happens – when the spirit of peace awakens and takes possession of men’s hearts, can humanity be saved from perishing — Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965)
