At the risk of boring you, this is the penultimate post about our termite munched entryway. The Retired Husband (TRH) has completed the massive renovation rescue. We’ve been at it since Nov 2016. OMG, that’s four months!
Next week we will be adding the ‘dressing’. There’s even a sneak peek of some things that will be going in there.
Today I met with three friends for a leisurely girly birthday lunch. Not mine.
This photo on the left is the really cool water feature at the side entrance. It’s intriguing. What look like lines are clear, thick plastic strings along which the water falls.
I didn’t take a lot of photos. The Hackney Hotel, on the eastern edges of Adelaide CBD, is very good at catering to specific dietary needs. Two of our party had restrictions on what they could eat. Although there is a good selection of options on the menu, the kitchen willingly adapts where possible also.
Food was yummy. Between us we had Crunchy Thai Prawn Salad, Caesar Salad and Crispy Skin Atlantic Salmon.
I just couldn’t go past desert. And it was delicious. Never had anything like it. Licorice Pannacotta. I did snap a shot of that. And here it is.

Isn’t it amazing how long it takes to repair and decorate a small space like that? He did a gorgeous job. 🙂
It’s been a long haul alright! But it looks brand new. He’s very good at what he does.
Your entrance looks wonderful. Job well done! The risk is gone, the result is spectacular! How divine!
It is – you’re right 🙂
You must be so thrilled, over the moon about it.
I am – the big final reveal next week 🙂
I look forward to it
Thanks for the folow, btw. I’ll pop in later when I have some time. Cleaning up after all the renos. It’s amazing how dust finds its way into all sorts of nooks and crannies 😦
I know that one well, it’s astounding. Take care, ttyl.
