Soul Gifting – what is it?

followers

Yay  – I have 1000 followers! Unreal.

I never thought I’d get to such a milestone.

Needless to say, I am touched, humbled, honoured, flabbergasted. I’m running out of superlatives here but I’m sure you get my drift.  It feels a bit trite to just say ‘Hey, thanks a bunch!‘  Of course I do say it 😀

For some time I have been toying with ideas of how else to say thanks to my followers. I want to do it in a unique way. I like gifting. I like making gifts. I like surprising people in a nice way. Perhaps I could combine all that somehow. So here’s what I have come up with.   I call it Soul Gifting.

Once a month I am going to choose someone from my followers and contact them to let them know they are being offered a Soul Gift. If they choose to accept, all I need is a mailing address sent to me by private email. What the gift is will be a surprise.

I was going to start this next month. However, having reached such a momentous milestone, I am going to start now. The first ‘giftee’ has been contacted!

Much as I would love to I cannot do this for everyone. It’s my way of saying  ‘thanks’, no strings attached. It’s not a challenge.  It’s not a competition.  You are automatically in the draw if you follow my blog. I retain sole control and decision making.

I am adding a static page called Soul Gifting to my Home Page in the top tool bar. In it I will explain what it is. And I will list the ‘giftees’, why I chose them, and add a link to their blog.

PS – you may have noticed I’m back to underlining links and justifying my post. It means I am using HTML for the first time in my life! I even found out that by clicking on the ? in the toolbar at the top gives me a list of Keyboard Shortcuts. Duh! Thanks to everyone for the feedback to my post about Missing Buttons.

  1. Congratulation, Raili on reaching 1000 followers, What a great feeling 🙂
I am terrified of HTML and impressed that you have dived on in and managed to make it work! 🙂

    1. Thank you Lorrie! I hoped, as I pressed that send button, that it would be understood by people as a genuine and heartfelt ‘my way’ of saying thank you. I think I achieved that 🙂

  2. Congrats Raili! You have a fab blog. It is always diverse and entertaining. I wish you many more subscribers who will enjoy your work x
