“I wanted to change the world. But I have found that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself.”
Aldous Huxley
I wonder sometimes why we make life so complicated.
We analyse, scrutinise, examine, investigate, inspect, study, peruse dissect, test
and end up going round and round in circles
ever more confused and discombobulated
getting nowhere fast.
So here’s my answer –
“For after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining is let it rain.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
What a wise man was Longfellow! Enjoy the rain and all it has to offer.
“If
“If freckles were lovely, and day was night,
And measles were nice and a lie warn’t a lie,
Life would be delight,–
But things couldn’t go right
For in such a sad plight
I wouldn’t be I.
If earth was heaven and now was hence,
And past was present, and false was true,
There might be some sense
But I’d be in suspense
For on such a pretense
If fear was plucky, and globes were square,
And dirt was cleanly and tears were glee
Things would seem fair,–
Yet they’d all despair,
For if here was there
We wouldn’t be we.”
ee cummings
And I wouldn’t be I. I’m gonna lose that two letter word!
“Act the way you’d like to be and soon you’ll be the way you act.”
Leonard Cohen
Another wise man…

Makes a lot of sense! Indeed why do I analyse and scrutinise and dissect and worry and go round in circle? *Sighs…
I know, I do too – it’s so silly, isn’t it ?!
Thinking over it now… yes, very silly
Love this Rali. You have put a smile on my face with all the people you referenced.
Thanks Bernadette 🙂
The Cohen quote… I used to believe that. I really thought that’s how it would work. I was counting on it. But you know, since I stopped digging around in my cave I find myself losing ground every day. And then I wonder if it’s truly possible for leopards to change their spots after all…
Perhaps you haven’t finished digging yet
