Winter Wogs and Thieves

YL poster - Cheryl

Cough, cough, cough !!! Splutter! SNEEZE !!

Oh boy, the winter wogs are having a field day in our house. I don’t want to fingerpoint, but HE brought it in through the door. The youngest. Three days ago he started sniffling. Nearly bounced back. But then he went Pokemon hunting in the dark and the rain. That did it. Pushed him over the edge into misery. TRH was next. He’s dyin’, he says. Give him his due, he has been bed ridden for two days. Next was the oldest son. He’s just started. Huddled under blankets watching TV with his Dad as I write. They prefer to ride it out. I don’t even want to get on board.

I am NOT going to get it! I’m determined.  And to help me with this I have some secret weapons.  Actually it is only one in various guises.  It’s this wonder oil called Thieves inspired by the legend of four 15th century French thieves. They formulated a special aromatic combination composed of cloves, rosemary and other botanicals and used it to protect themselves whilst robbing the dead and dying during the plague. They didn’t die from the plague. Instead, they got caught. And used the formula to bargain for leniency in their sentencing.

Young Living has a one-of-a-kind blend called Thieves  which was inspired by the legend.  It’s a powerhouse of goodness blended from five different essential oils – Cinnamon Bark, Lemon, Clove, Rosemary and Eucalyptus. Thieves supports well-being and healthy immune and respiratory function.

I diffuse it through the house. It smells great. I make an oil with it using coconut and olive oil and give myself a foot massage every day. And I put a drop of it into a cup of herbal tea. Spreading those little packets of goodness as far and wide as I can. Oh, and I use other Thieves products in personal care and household cleaning as a general rule anyway: mouthwash, toothpaste, dental floss, foaming hand soap, waterless hand purifier, household cleaning.

Just remember if you choose to use essential oils do yourself a favour and make sure they are 100% pure. I only use Young Living’s products as I know I can trust the quality which is ensured by  their Seed to Seal process.

  1. Thieves sounds like an amazing combination. I’ve never used cinnamon bark – maybe that should be the next oil I buy – except I’ve run out of ylang ylang. I like that oil.
Ylang ylang – so good they named it twice 🙂

      1. Back when I sold Cruelty-free cosmetics I used to make essential oil mixes to order. I’ve been looking for the recipe book which I wrote by hand, but it seems to have disappeared.

      2. I’m sure it’s still filed away in the grey cells somewhere waiting to re-emerge. I too have developed blends and have a book of formulae 🙂
