We took the kids out

TRH and I took our kids out for a treat the other day.  A cosy wintery sleep-in and a leisurely morning started the day.  Lunch was a tasty meal at Café Primo before we hit the movies.

Pixar’s Finding Dory has just been released.  The show started with a delightful pre-movie called Piper. It was cuteness personified!

Then the main show.   Critics will tell you it’s not as good as the original. I disagree.  TRH is not so sure. It was visually delightful, entertaining, funny. The scene with Hank the seven tentacled octopus driving a truck with Dory guiding him (he can’t see the road) is hilarious.

It was a fun day out.  TRH and I  thoroughly enjoyed it. After all,  we’re just kids at heart. And we’re grown up enough now that we don’t get embarrassed to be the sole retiree couple in the theatre  sans ‘real’ kids!

  1. It’s great to be kids for the day ! It can be what memories are made of, It can be moments of happiness and when it’s with the family, It’s the best thing there is, Have a lovely weekend x

  2. I really want to see it! We were going to go last night after dinner but it ended up being too late. Maybe we’ll try a matinee today. I had a bit of short term memory loss after I awoke from my coma. Still do at times, but not nearly as bad. My cousin jokingly calls me dory. ☺️☺️

      1. We went see a matinee today. I liked it but thought finding nemo was better. It was cute though! Loved her baby fish voice. Next I want to see the BFG. ☺️

  3. Sandpipers! I love them! Actually Dory looks pretty good. Drollery would never go see that. Maybe I should sneak away by myself. I wonder if it’s still around here…

  4. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie a lot. I’m not sure if it’ll be as good as the original — that’s a very high bar to get over — but even okay Pixar is about ten times better than any other studio’s movies. 🙂
