Linda from Spiritual Dragonfly – wrote about a truly special person, her soul mate, sharing a delightful photo and a song by Dan Seals: One Friend
Calen of Impromptu Promptlings tells of her inner sanctum of close friends, some of whom she claims could blackmail her with what they know! I’m sure no close friend would ever commit such a heinous act.
Lori from As Fates Would Have It writes about how a special group of close friends enriches her life, each in their own unique ways
Jacqueline Oby Ikocha from A cooking pot and twisted tales comments that
‘I have so many lovely friends, childhood and otherwise, but moving around a lot and now to the UAE has created a gap. We chat on BBM and online but it’s just never the same thing.’
I also want to share a quote from one of Jacqueline’s other posts that fits so well with this week’s theme:

So glad to see this is bringing in so many great voices. I will be making my rounds to read everyone later today. Thank you, Raili for this great way of sharing friendships. After May… hmmm, I think this should continue if you can keep coming up with ways for us to explore friendships more.
Now that’s interesting Lori, because I have been thinking exactly the same thing!! Calen was asking what happens at the end of May.

It’s an excellent subject matter. I envy you because you have old friends. I can see how someone like you who really does engender love, would. My best friend is a school friend I’ve known since I was five. He’s definitely closer to me because of our shared histories and the time involved. But some of my other school friends didn’t work out so well. I think that’s more true with close friends that I’ve had. Did you read that self-pitying diatribe about it on FB that I wrote last week? Anyway I lost my BFF she decided she didn’t like me because she was pro-palestine and anti-jewish and this because Roger Walters from Pink Floyd (her favorite band) is anti-jewish. I couldn’t believe it really. I”m not even a practicing Jew! But that’s what happened and so I lost her and my god-child, she and I had known each other for over 30 years. I envy any woman (it’s different in male friendships) who has close friends. I have no close friends where I live they are all far-away and at times I am very, very lonely. Friendship really is the glue in our lives. I’m glad you wrote this. (munches on vegemite toast).
