HONE YOUR EYE – Photo 101 Weekend 3

Getting close to the end now.

This weekend is one of consolidating themes covered so far .

So I went snap happy today. Here it is –

“Contrast and compliment. The blue is never more blue than it is when paired with orange.

And the orange is never bluer than when eaten on a cloud in the sky.”
― Jarod Kintz

Focus on colour

“Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? no. Just as one can never learn how to paint.”
― Pablo Picasso

One colour

“Let me, O let me bathe my soul in colours; let me swallow the sunset and drink the rainbow.”
― Kahlil Gibran

Focus Close and Entire scene

“You can capture me with your beauty, only if you are a brilliant photographer.”
― Michael Bassey Johnson

Motion

“You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you.”
― Andy Warhol

Size and Smaller Moments

“Senses empower limitations, senses expand vision within borders, senses promote understanding through pleasure.”
― Dejan Stojanovic

Borders

“Life is a sea of vibrant color. Jump in.”
― A.D. Posey

  1. Really enjoying this series Raili. I have zero ability with a camera and can’t draw to save myself so it’s been really great for me. i particularly like the car mirror one for reasons I don’t fully understand. Perhaps feels like it’s out of a detective story…there’s a hint of menace or surveillance about it…. anyway, thanks for posting all these photographs. Best wishes, Nick

    1. Thanks Nick That photo is probably one of my favourites too. I’m no photographer! I use my mbl ph camera, point and shoot and play with it. It’s fun and I can’t believe the quality of photos it takes, or the amount of features it has. I got it a couple of months ago as my old ph was kaput. Why don’t you have a go at photo101 – you’d enjoy it. There’s no prerequisite for any level of skill or type of equipment. I’ve learnt so much, and met so many amazing bloggers along the way too. It’s a 4 week course for free WP bloggers

      1. You’re being very modest. I’ll have a think about your suggestion. But I already struggle to feed my blog regularly as it is! All the best, Nick

      2. Yeah, it can be time consuming. But you don’t have to go to the extremes that I have. A lot of people have gone at their own pace and one photo at a time that is part of what they would normally post.

  2. You really did your homework on this one! It’s a thoroughly thought-out and worked-out post 🙂 The motion blur photos are my favourites, and so is the last shot, the one with the car’s rear mirror. I think I need to take more motion blur photos myself, I love the effect it creates.
