KIITOS – HYVÄÄ JOULUA JA ONNELLISTA UUTTA VUOTTA
What the?! This is a blog posted in English isn’t it? Yes, it is. I’m just breaking with tradition this once. I know, it seems to be happening a bit with me lately what with Christmas trees and gingerbread houses and all.
So just what are those words in the title? It is Finnish for “Thankyou and “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.” Don’t even try to pronounce them unless you’re Finnish or a linguist. It’s a tongue twister of a language.
I would post the same message in more languages but it would take up too much room. And it would get downright boring reading the same message over and over in mysterious words and languages. So please don’t feel left out if your language is not represented. It is there with intent!
Many of you who read this blog are unknown to me. You are always welcome whether it be once, now and then, or often. And if you choose to click like or leave a comment it makes me as excited as a kid at Christmas! It’s been a bit scary posting my work out there for strangers eyes to see and read, not knowing how it will be received. Your many heart warming responses have touched me. Thank you!
It seems that the little widget thingy for signing up to receive notification of new posts by email disappeared. You may have noticed I’m not big on techno-speak. I’ve impressed myself just by knowing what a widget thing is! I don’t know when or why it disappeared but several people have asked via comments how to subscribe, alerting me to a possible problem. It has been restored. I’m sorry I didn’t notice it sooner. Hopefully it will now behave itself and stay put. I impressed myself even more by being able to restore it painlessly. This whole blogging thing is stretching me in ways I never expected. My learning curve has skyrocketed and will continue to for the foreseeable future. There is so much to learn!
Christmas can be a lonely and sad time for many. Neither is it a tradition or celebration that is followed by everyone. For those of you who fall into those categories and are visiting this post, I extend to each and everyone of you a heartfelt message of love, peace, joy and happiness. That is what Christmas is about. It is a universal message that crosses cultures, traditions, beliefs and countries. May all our hearts be filled with grace and blessings.
